NATIONAL Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day will be celebrated with a special event in Camillo on Wednesday.

With this year’s theme ‘Celebrating Our Children for 30 Years’, the day is about helping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children feel proud and connected to their culture.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said activities would include face painting and a visit from Ranger Red and his native animals.

“We have a strong Indigenous community in the City of Armadale, and we’re incredibly proud to host this event which provides local children the opportunity to explore and learn about Indigenous culture,” he said.

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day will be celebrated at the Harold King Centre on August 8 from 11am to 1pm.
