New flight path may be quieter

Following a recommendation by Aircraft Noise Ombudsman Ron Brent, Airservices Australia will move a flight path from Roleystone.

A modified flight path will be tried for 12 months over the mostly rural areas near Karragullen, Pickering Brook and Bickley.

Airservices is consulting widely with the local community before the trial and will conduct noise monitoring in affected areas.

Public meetings will be held at the Roleystone Neighbourhood Family Centre on Sunday, August 11, from 1pm to 3pm, and on Tuesday, August 13 from 6pm to 8pm.

Meetings will be held at Pickering Brook Sports Club on Sunday, August 11, from 5pm to 7pm and Friday, August 16 from 6pm to 8pm.

Airservices will formally evaluate the trial after 12 months.
