New green projects

The centre was one of 16 groups that successfully applied for State Government Perth Banksia Woodland Community Restoration Grants, totalling more than $300,000.

The grants were for projects that either created new Carnaby’s black cockatoo habitat through revegetation of damaged areas, or protected high conservation-value banksia woodland from weed invasion, feral animals or dieback. Serpentine Jarrahdale |Community Landcare Centre’s $47,755 is divided across four projects that include dieback treatment and river red gum removal in banksia woodland. |The projects will begin this month and end in September 2016.
