Several marked and unmarked vehicles responded immediately, travelling with lights and sirens on.

While travelling along Forest Road, Armadale, a marked four-wheel-drive vehicle from Armadale Police Station overtook another vehicle travelling in the same direction.

At the intersection of Dale Road the marked police vehicle has left the road, struck a low garden wall before hitting the front of a house.

Extensive damage has occurred to a brick wall and window of the house.

DFES, SES, Western Power and ATCO Gas attended to ensure that there was no danger resulting from the damage to the house.

Two officers were in the police vehicle at the time and the driver was taken to Armadale hospital and is being treated for a back injury.

The other officer is unhurt and no-one in the house was injured.

This matter is now being investigated to determine what caused the police vehicle to leave the road and strike the house.
