Hopeland residents participate in the National Garage Sale Trail

The program aims to build community spirit and minimise landfill by encouraging people to sell unwanted goods.

Merry Whisson is from one of the four families taking part in the sale at 33 Westcott Road in Hopeland, from 7.30am to 4pm.

‘If you even think you might need it, then we will be sure to have it,’ she said.

‘We are the queens of garage sales.’

– The City of Gosnells is also taking part in the day by hosting free REfunked toy workshops for children, in which old toys will be deconstructed and re-created using a range of recycled materials.

Children can bring old toys or use some of the rescued toys supplied at the workshops at Centro Maddington from 10am-1pm.
