One Residential agent scoops back-to-back Agent of the Year awards

Ben SmithComment News

ONE of WA’s top real estate agents has credited technology for helping him claim one of the state’s top awards.

One Residential’s Shane Beaumont took home the WA Agent of the Year at the RateMyAgent Awards, repeating his victory in the same category at last year’s awards.

The awards recognise the agents who receive the highest rating on RateMyAgent’s website, which is calculated by local vendor reviews, the proportion of properties sold, sale volume and total sales.

Mr Beaumont said social media was a huge asset in helping him reach a larger audience and he had embraced the power of technology.

“Regardless of what’s happening, there’s always someone buying and selling,” he said.

“Through video, we’ve had our properties in front of just under 750,000 views in the area. You’ve got to find different ways with technology evolving to put them in front of a larger amount of people in a shorter amount of time.”

Mr Beaumont said he was thrilled to be recognised as a top agent and the 12th best agent nationally, given the real estate market was stronger over east.

“The market I’ve worked a lot in has been hit pretty hard, with a lot of investors not in the market, so to still get the results and the client satisfaction when you’re doing that amount of deals is pretty rewarding,” he said.

While One Residential is based in Palmyra, Mr Beaumont specialises in Perth’s southeast corridor and said Gosnells, the area in which he grew up, was a good option for young families.

“It’s got good schooling and really good infrastructure. It’s not far from the city, people with young families have reserves and open spaces; it’s not like it’s high density and there’s apartments all through the area,” he said.
