‘Passionate leader’ retires

She returned to full-time at the Seville Grove school by 1986, without having really planned to.

‘They kept saying, ‘Would you stay on until the end of the year?’ then it was ‘Could you stay on full-time?’ and here I am,’ she said.

During her career, Ms Jamieson saw the evolution of Australian education, including the introduction of outcomes-based education and the beginnings of national curriculum development.

She was one of Cecil Andrews’ first teachers to create a Certificate course and spent years co-ordinating its workplace learning program.

Ms Jamieson said the students had changed as much as the system over the years.
