FIRE fighters are responding to three fires reported within half an hour this afternoon.

A DFES spokeswoman said about 20 appliances had been called to a fire on Connell Avenue in Kelmscott, which was reported about 12.30pm.

She said helitacs had been requested for that and another fire reported about 1.05pm on Toodyay Road in Gidgegannup.

Another six appliances are attending a grass fire near Garden Park Drive and Dundebar Road in Wanneroo, reported about 1pm.

“A resident living on Dundebar Road could see fire at the back of their property,” she said.

“It look like just a grass fire at this point in time; it’s near a shed.”

The City of Swan is managing the Gidgeannup fire and Parks and Wildlife is helping with the Kelmscott fire which is moving in a north easterly direction up the Darling Scarp.

Fireys are also battling blazes in Clackline, Alkimos and Churchlands.

A fire is burning near Toodyay Road and Chrimes Place in southern parts of Hoddys Well.
