Francis CurroComment News

Hughes has accepted a job as the high-performance manager of Baseball WA and will work with elite junior players and help coach their on-field performance.

The Heat, based at Baseball Park in Thornlie, finished fifth on the ladder, missing out on finals.

The Perth side has been the most successful team since the league was revamped in 2009, being champions in four out of six seasons and coming second once.

Starting at the Morley Eagles, Hughes worked his way up to the highest levels of the game, playing with the Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics.
