Perth Kilt Run to draw crowds at Highland Gathering this weekend

Sarah WatersComment News

Residents and visitors can experience the vibrant Scottish culture, which is a highlight on the City of Armadale's calendar.

This year's event includes the famous Perth Kilt Run, a 2.5km leisure run or 5km warrior run through the City centre.

There will also be authentic Scottish food, Celtic music and heavy lifters.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said residents did not need to be Scottish to join in the fun.

"Simply bring your family and friends along and enjoy Scottish culture right here in Armadale," he said.

The Perth Kilt Run will begin at 9.30am, followed by the Highland Gathering at 11am.

To register for the Perth Kilt Run, visit www.perthkiltrun.|com.au. Kilts are available for purchase from $20.

Both events will be located at Minnawarra Park on the corner of Armadale Road and Orchard Avenue, Armadale.

There will be a public carpark set up on Abbey Road, off Railway Avenue.

The Highland Gathering with the Perth Kilt Run is a free, family friendly, accessible, smoke-free event.
