Man finds mouse in Jandakot Spudshed salad bag
It seems like a stray piece of rocket might not be the only thing you’ll find in your store bought pack of spinach.
A Perth man was shocked to find a dead mouse inside a bag of spinach leaves he bought from Jandakot Spudshed.
Sukhdeep Gill Sandu posted the photo to a local Facebook group on Sunday.
The photo had more than 100 comments a few hours after it was posted.
A representative of Supafresh Salads who supply the bagged spinach to the Spudshed was quick to apologise to Mr Sandu via Facebook.
They wrote that they inspected every bag and had rodent traps throughout their farm.
“My name is Troy Cukrov. We are a family business that have been growing and processing salads in WA for nearly 20 years,” they wrote.
“Unfortunately, we deal in nature and farming is a constant challenge,” they wrote.
“Insect pressure in Western Australia this summer has been the worst I can remember. The challenge to manage all pests has been harder than ever this summer…. but we are doing everything practical and trying our very best.
“I have failed in this case and for that we are truly and humbly sorry.”
