The City is continuing to implement the central Maddington outline development plan (ODP), with the third purchase of public open space.

The acquisition of the 806sqm parcel of land at 34 Weston Street, Maddington, will enable the City to consolidate this land with surrounding parkland to create a park of almost 8000sqm on Weston Street.

Cr Searle said it would benefit the community.

“The City’s adopted ODP for central Maddington has clearly identified the need for more public open space and as the City acquires more land, this will become a reality for the area,” she said. “A concept plan for the development of the park on Weston Street will be prepared once the house on the land is demolished and the City will engage with the local community throughout this process.”

This acquisition follows the City’s recent purchase of the first of six parcels of land that form another area of POS, which will total 9000sqm, between Attfield Street and Phillip Street, Maddington.
