Police call for witnesses after man attacked in Thornlie

POLICE are looking for witnesses after a man was set upon and attacked after he left a house party in Thornlie.

Police say the incident occurred at 11pm on February 17 when the victim, aged in his 20s, had left a party in Corriedale Place.

He was walking along Dorset Place when a group of people approached him, striking him from behind which caused him to fall.

While on the ground the victim received multiple blows to the torso, head and legs, and his mobile phone was stolen from his pant pocket.

The group fled the scene after a passing woman intervened.

Police want to speak to the woman and any other people who either witnessed the assault or were in the area around the same time.
