Police charge man with aggravated indecent assault over Champion Lakes incident

POLICE have charged a 62-year-old man after an incident in Champion Lakes on Tuesday afternoon.

About 3.20pm, a 23-year-old woman was walking with her 15-month-old son and two dogs.

A man, wearing a wig, appeared from some bushes and allegedly grabbed the female and tried to take her off a walking path.

The female screamed and managed to break free.

A 62-year-old man from Champion Lakes has been charged with deprivation of liberty, committing an act likely to endanger the life, health or safety of a person and aggravated indecent assault.

The man will appear in Armadale Magistrates Court next Tuesday September 19.
