Police investigating series of suspicious scrub fires in southeast metro suburbs

ARSON Squad Strike Force Vulcan detectives are calling for the public to assist with their investigation into a number of suspicious scrub fires across several southeast metro suburbs between December 1 and December 25.

The fires are believed to have started along bicycle and foot paths in the below areas:

– Friday December 1, about 4:25am Grovelands Drive and Dollis Way in Camillo.
– Friday December 15, about 2:45am Zenobia Tce and Gertrude Ave in Champion Lakes.
– Thursday December 21, about 1:15am east side of Tonkin Hwy off Corfield St in Gosnells.
– Friday December 22, about 1:20pm Broadhurst Rd and Ferres Drive in Martin.
– Monday December 25, about 3:05am Tonkin Hwy and Corfield St in Champion Lakes.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who lives in the vicinity of the above areas who has seen any suspicious people, vehicles or activity in the area around the time of the fires.
