Man stable after being shot by police in Seville Grove

A MAN is in a stable condition after being shot by police during an incident in Seville Grove this morning.

About 11am police spotted a stolen Subaru Impreza hatchback parked in the driveway of a home on Firetail Court in Seville Grove.

Police drove up behind the vehicle, which contained two occupants.

Police allege the Subaru reversed into the police vehicle, causing significant damage to the police car.

The passenger from the Subaru fled and was pursued on foot by an officer.

The Subaru continued to hit the police car until it was able to maneuver past the police car.

During this time the driver of the police car discharged his weapon which resulted in a man in his 30s receiving a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Police administered first aid and St John Ambulance attended, taking the man to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

He is in a stable condition.

Officers from Homicide Squad and the Police Internal Affairs Unit are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
