ARMADALE Police have seized 4kg of cannabis and $39,000 cash from a Karragullen residence following a tip-off from the public.

Sergeant Tom Weidmann said on Thursday afternoon, police executed a search warrant at a Karragullen house where they found drugs and cash.

A 62-year-old Karragullen man was charged with a number of drug-related offences, including possession of a prohibited drug, possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sgt Weidmann said it was a “significant seizure” and the cannabis had an estimated street value of $40,000 to $50,000.

He reiterated the importance of reporting crime and suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers.

“We had information from the public, we conducted surveillance and that led to enough evidence for us to conduct a search warrant,” he said. “We do follow the calls up and it does lead to good results.”

The Karragullen man is due to appear at Armadale Magistrates Court on December 15.

If you notice suspicious behaviour, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
