Armadale Detectives Constable Matt Whelan said between 8pm and 9pm on Tuesday, March 11, the man tried to talk to the two-year-old at the Seventh Road address.

He ran away when a parent saw him.

‘The male offender possibly ran to a vehicle which is described as a white delivery-style panel van, with two rear doors, and a sliding door on the driver’s side,’ Constable Whelan said.

The offender was described asfair-skinned, 50-60 years old, obese, 180cm tall and balding, with short grey hair around the sides of his head.

He was wearing a plain grey T-shirt, dark pants, sneakers and a pair of clear framed glasses.

A man at a nearby public telephone box may have seen the incident.

Officers urge anyone with information that could help identify the offender or the male witness, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
