Raid on homes nets drugs, cash

Detective Senior Constable Chris Bown said officers uncovered elaborate hydroponic cannabis set-ups in each house last Wednesday.

Officers seized a large number of plants, equipment and $73,000 cash, and frozen assets including two of the houses, three cars and a motorbike.

South East Metropolitan District Crime Team officers arrested the 50-year-old on the Fleming Avenue, Wilson property and laid charges including cultivating a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on October 30.

A neighbour who did not want to be named said police had been at the house since at least noon when he arrived home from work.

He said there were six police cars and officers pulled tiles off the roof.
