"The novel aims to provide hope to those struggling with a damaging past and/or insurmountable obstacles in their lives."

The story begins in Melbourne and ends up in Perth.

The book is about 17-year-old Miera, who is broken by years of physical and emotional abuse, and is held captive by poverty and shame.

She ends up meeting Deyon, who is insulated from reality by his unimaginable wealth and spends his life in pursuit of personal fulfilment.

Ms Wise said she wanted the story to be more uplifting and encouraging and offer a lot of hope.

"I am an avid reader; have been in the last 20 years," she said.

I have found it difficult to find a book that I really enjoyed so I decided to write the book I wanted to read, which is what I have done.

"I have had some very good feedback from readers, with one suggesting it should be in every library in the country."

Ms Wise has always been a fan of writing and has already planned a sequel to Some Secret Place.

"I will never stop writing," she said.

If anyone is interested in purchasing a copy of the book, they can contact Ms Wise on 0437 151 134, or dmarreewise55@gmail.com.
