YOUNG people in Armadale and Gosnells will be given a platform to voice their thoughts in a new spoken word event.

Local organisations OWLKEYME and Art vs Depression have come together to run RFC Speak Up 2018, a new spoken word platform that gives young people the opportunity to talk about thoughts and issues that are affecting them.

OWLKEYME’s Nicole Iovine said the event promoted the importance of human connection and creating a positive change.

“I believe this event and collaboration will be an extremely unique experience for the young people of Kenwick, also hoping to integrate people from Maddington, Gosnells, Armadale, and reaching out to other surrounding suburbs,” she said.

“I am finding in Australia that there are a lot of kids waving their hands to say what they feel but without a platform.

“We have created the opportunity, so bring the kids.”

RFC Speak Up 2018 will be held from 5pm to 6.30pm May 26 at the Gosnells PCYC.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com.au.
