The Comment News has reported on the roundabout’s congestion and upgrade negotiations since 2010.

The latest report, in May, celebrated newly opened lanes that would help traffic flow, but Southern River MLA Peter Abetz has said the situation is worse than ever.

He said the upgrade allowed cars entering from Yale Road to turn right from the left lane, cutting off those entering from Nicholson Road’s railway end with intent to turn right from the right lane.

Mr Abetz said the Main Roads WA (MRWA) solution was a multitude of road markings and signs that now told drivers coming from the Nicholson Road entry they had to get into the left lane to turn right.
