The Australia China Friendship Society of WA will present the exhibition Yunnan Province: The Path to Discovery exhibition as part of the Harmony Day festival.

The exhibition features a range of images taken by Ms Halvorson on a recent photographic safari through the Yunnan Province in China.

Ms Halvorson said she was determined to go to places off the beaten track.

“I chose Yunnan Province because I wanted to go to where the village life was still relatively traditional and not many Western people regularly travel there,” she said.

“The journey took me to Dali, Lijiang, Shaxi and Shangri-la where I often stayed with locals that gave me a greater appreciation of the subjects.”

The public is welcome to view the images between 11am and 4pm.
