‘We are welcoming the general public to come and meet us there to see what kind of things we do,’ committee member Elle Burton said.

Ms Burton said the group, which welcomed boys and girls, held weekly meetings with planned activities, as well as camps, scavenger hunts, environmental days and excursions.

She encouraged those interested to come along to a meeting.

‘My son attended for few weeks before committing to get a uniform and sign up – not many places let you have more than one session,’ she said.

‘They meet and make new friends, they have awesome guidelines for bullying and behaviour, and to be honest, I haven’t seen anything I don’t like.

‘My nine-year-old son loves going and he learns things that will set him up for life.’

As well as community stalls, the party, which runs from 10am until 1pm, includes a junior climbing wall, cupcake decorating, music and farm animals.
