Services are ear to stay

It was originally earmarked to close at the end of the year when a contract between the Department of Health and Telethon Speech and Hearing expired.

Health Minister Kim Hames said the Department of Health was reviewing ear health services.

‘The State Government remains committed to continuing to provide a full range of ear health services to Aboriginal children across the metropolitan area, including the Armadale and Fremantle corridor.

‘This includes appropriate screening, treatment and referral services.’

‘Negotiations will occur with appropriate service providers, including TSH, in the New Year to determine the best and most effective model for the future delivery of ear health services,’ Dr Hames said.
