Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale to make emergency funds more accessible after natural disasters

Jaime ShurmerComment News

The Shire’s original policy referred to a ‘declared natural disaster’ which made it difficult to access funds after extensive storm damage that occurred across Serpentine in January.

The Shire has now set a minimum and maximum balance to prevent the need for annual top- ups.

The minimum suggested would be $250,000, with a cap of $400,000.
