The process sought to capture the values and aspirations of those living in the Shire and plan a shared vision for the future.

Nine outcomes were established using the community’s values and aspirations as a framework, with each outcome seeking to improve the quality of life under the themes of people, place and prosperity.

Shire president Michelle Rich said the plan accounted for both the hopes and potential struggled the community may encounter.

“One of the Shire’s main focuses is on meeting the needs of an additional 100,000 people by 2050 in such a way that protects our sense of community and way of life,” she said.
