New Shire President Keith Ellis commended the outstanding work of Shire officers in developing the project.
‘This is an excellent example of the Shire looking into the future and developing our community sustainably,’ Cr Ellis said.
The Resource Management Award recognises excellence in managing one or more components of the water cycle.

Other finalists include BHP Billiton Iron Ore for its Pilbara water management strategy and the Department of Water /SKM for its farm dam planning and allocation tool.
The awards are on November 22 and winners will go on to compete at a national level.
