‘Small band’ honoured

Staff ReporterComment News

‘It was wonderful for the volunteers and committee to be acknowledged for the valuable service that they provide,’ community safety project officer Andrea Richardson said.

She said the ‘small band of merry volunteers’ needed more recruits to help with its new events program for 2013/2014.

‘Volunteering with NHW can range from packing safety bags, talking to the community about safety and security initiatives at events and stalls, shopping centre displays, community event displays, bike and scooter engraving days, awareness raising events and the occasional doorknock,’ Ms Richardson said.
