FIVE mayors took media to the top of Henderson’s Mount Brown amid a deluge to call for the State Government to make the Outer Harbour the most important infrastructure project on the agenda at the March State Election.

Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett, Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones, Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels, Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams and Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale President John Erren attended the media conference on November 16.

Town of East Fremantle Mayor Jim O’Neill did not attend.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams was coy about whether she plans to run in the next State Election when asked by Comment News, after Treasurer Mike Nahan recently accused six councils of “playing politics” when they collectively called for immediate action on a Kwinana Outer Harbour.

She stood as an independent for the seat of Kwinana in the 2013 election, attracting slightly more votes than the Liberal candidate.

The Labor candidates for 2017 have been pre-selected for the seats of Baldivis and Kwinana.
