BLETCHELY Play and Learn has gone eco-crazy as part of National Recycling Week.

The Southern River day care centre has been teaching children the importance of recycling to coincide with the national week, which runs from November 13-19.

Children participated in a range of recycling lessons throughout the week and were involved in composting activities.

After bringing in recycled objects from home, the children used their newfound eco-knowledge to create watering cans from empty milk cartons and use cardboard instead of paper for drawing.

A Bletchley Play and Learn spokeswoman said it was important to install good recycling habits at an early age.

“It’s important for them to learn so they can start doing things like re-using things multiple times,” she said.

“They’re very clever, they pick it up very fast and go home and do the same thing.”
