IT was like something out of a Hollywood movie, but it happened in downtown Maddington.

A Toyota Landcruiser was towing a trailer about 7.45pm last night when the driver decided they didn’t want to stop for police on Phillip Street.

The wheels of the trailer fell off, causing a spectacular light show as the driver hit the accelerator.

The 4WD narrowly missed the level crossing boom gates at Kelvin Road, and that’s when police gave up their pursuit.

The incident was captured on video by Facebook user Manny.

As the video’s shell-shocked narrator said: “Welcome to Maddington.”

The Landcruiser was last seen headed south on Tonkin Highway.

Armadale Detectives would like to speak to 29-year-old Glen John Smith who they believe can help with their investigation into this incident.

He was described as fair skinned with a slim build, about 175cms tall, with short brown hair, hazel eyes and tattoos on both forearms.

Mr Smith is believed to be driving a white 2009 model Toyota Landcruiser, with the registration number 1GBQ321.

He is known to frequent the Forrestfield, Byford and Maddington areas.

Anyone who sees Mr Smith or the Toyota Landcruiser is asked to call police immediately on 131 444.
