Francis CurroComment News

The run is a global torch relay that carries the message of international friendship and understanding to more than 70 countries throughout the world every year.

It is also the world’s longest running torch relay based on the idea that peace begins with the individual.

Nelson Mandela, Cathy Freeman, Steve Hooker, Carl Lewis, Mikhail Gorbachev, Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa and Pope Francis have been torch-bearers.
