Francis CurroComment News

PEOPLE are being asked to have their say on proposed mountain bike trails, including areas near Armadale and Jarrahdale.

The State Government released a draft on Tuesday of the The Perth and Peel Mountain Bike Master Plan 2016-2026 to mountain bike trials in the Perth and Peel region.

Environment Minister Albert Jacob said the draft plan outlined the potential delivery of 570 kilometres of purpose-built trails across 24 sites.

Wungong near Armadale was identified as a high-priority area along with other suburbs in the Perth Hills including Mundaring and Dwellingup.

The draft plan identifies the Swan Valley, Jarrahdale and Yanchep as sites of moderate priority, with 18 other sites from Joondalup to Mandurah, and east to Avon and Boddington.

Areas around Gosnells were identified as low priority.

Mr Jacob said mounting biking was one of the fastest-growing recreational pursuits.
