A TEAM of enthusiastic writers and illustrators at Canning Vale Primary School were adjudged to have written the best book in both the 2015 National and WA Primary Divisions of the Write a Book in a Day competition.

The challenge of the competition was to write, edit, illustrate and bind a children’s book in 12 hours, and make a difference by raising funds to help sick children in Princess Margaret Hospital.

A group of Year 5 and 6 students took on the challenge, which was co-ordinated by English and additional lingual dialect teacher Anna Shavi.

The competition for primary school children began in 1985 and receives almost 500 entries each year.
