Teenage boy charged over alleged crime spree

A TEENAGER has been charged over a breaking and entering spree in Kelmscott which caused damage to several businesses.

Police allege the 17-year-old boy used a rock to smash the front doors of a service station on Albany Highway about 3am on September 14.

The boy allegedly threw items around inside the store and knocked over stands after entering the premises.

It will be further alleged he approached a white Geely sedan at the carpark of a fast food restaurant in Albany Highway at 3.15am.

He allegedly tried to steal the car by threatening the man inside and smashing a window but the driver removed the keys during a wrestle.

The driver fled into the restaurant.

It will be further alleged the boy smashed his way into the restaurant, ran out through to the kitchen and climbed a wall to get out.

Police said the boy smashed his way into another service station on Albany Highway at 3.20am.

The teenager from Beechboro has been charged with attempted armed robbery, burglary and commit, three counts of criminal damage and two counts of trespass.

He is due to appear at the Armadale Children’s Court on October 14.
