IN order to promote a litter free attitude among students, Thornlie Senior High School held a clean up Australia Day event on April 8.
Teacher Karen Partridge said it was about getting the staff and students involved.
“The school will endeavour to make this a yearly event to create a cleaner environment for all in the school grounds and hope to bring it into the community around us,” she said.
Clean Up Australia Day is about getting communities to clean up, fix up and conserve the environment.
In 2015 an estimated 536,423 volunteers removed 15,915 tonnes of rubbish at 7,232 sites across the country.
