Three charged following spate of burglaries

THREE men have been charged following a spate of alleged burglaries in the metropolitan area.

Between March 20 and 24 police say a number of burglaries were committed in Byford, Martin, Casuarina, Serpentine, Baldivis, Stake Hill, Oakford and Wandi, with six firearms stolen during the incidents.

On March 24, police say they spotted a stolen vehicle after it left an alleged burglary in Wandi, the occupants of the vehicle evading police until tyre deflators brought them to a stop in Oakford.

The three occupants of the car fled on foot but were arrested shortly after.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with seven counts of aggravated burglary and commit, seven counts of stealing, steal motor vehicle and drive recklessly, steal motor vehicle, unlawful act with intent to harm, criminal damage, reckless driving to escape pursuit, fail to stop, and no authority to drive.

He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on April 9.

A 19-year-old Seville Grove man has been charged with seven counts of aggravated burglary and commit, steal motor vehicle, seven counts of stealing, two counts of criminal damage, gains benefit by fraud and trespass.

He will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on April 27.

A 16-year-old Seville Grove boy was charged with aggravated burglary, stealing and criminal damage.

He will appear in the Perth Children’s Court on April 16.

Police searched two properties in Seville Grove and Greenfields where they say they found a stolen firearm and stolen property. Investigations are continuing.
