Tip-off helps track heist

Just after midnight on November 10 they allegedly smashed into the Parkwood shopping centre and forced entry to the jewellery store, officer-in-charge senior sergeant Simon Underwood said.

Sergeant Underwood said inquiries and public information led to officers charging a Canning Vale man with stealing and two counts of burglary.

The man is due to appear at Fremantle Magistrates Court on November 29.

Officers also charged a Harrisdale man with two counts of burglary, and with stealing and possessing ammunition.

He appeared at Perth Magistrates Court last Wednesday and was remanded on bail, to appear again at Armadale Magistrates Court today.

‘A portion of the jewellery has been recovered and further inquiries remain to locate the remaining property believed discarded,’ Sgt Underwood said.

‘It is pleasing to receive information from the community, which often helps to build the picture.’

He urged residents to continue calling Crime Stoppers with information or to visit the station.
