Seniors in the area registered to take part in a two-night adventure camp at Bickley Recreation Camp on May 13, offering an interactive and fun experience for those who sought adventure in natural surroundings.

Participants took part in the flying fox, canoeing, bushwalking and bocce.

Mr Searle said a visit from Community Services Minister Tony Simpson set the bar high when he took on the ‘leap of faith’ and flying fox.

“The City was delighted to host Mr Simpson at Bickley Recreation Camp to welcome those who attended our inaugural senior’s adventure camp,” City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle said.

“In response to feedback from seniors living in the City, a range of programs and events are provided to encourage and actively involve seniors in a wide range of leisure pursuits from social outings through to adventurous leisure activities such as this one.

“These programs are very well attended by local seniors and having the minister attend and get involved with activities at the seniors camp reinforces the value and importance of providing these events at a local level.”
