TWO people have been charged after allegedly trying to escape a police chase in a stolen car yesterday.

Police said sometime between 1:30am and 4:00am on Tuesday, a silver Toyota Tarago was stolen from a residence in Sawyers Valley during a burglary.

The car continued onto Alcock Street and then Maddington Road.

Police said the driver lost control of the car on Maddington Road and crashed into a power pole, before coming to rest as it collided with a fence.
