Vehicles at Men’s Shed vandalised

Shed chairman Geoff Wiltshire said each vehicle had extensive damage, including smashed windscreens and panel dents while parked in the Gosnells markets car park near the Shed.

‘Almost all of our members are pensioners and need their vehicles for personal use and medical reasons,’ he said.

‘While the new workshop is under construction, there is little option than to park in the adjoining hotel and market carpark.’

He said as soon as the workshop was complete in September, members would be able to use more secure on-site parking.

He requested that police step up patrols in the area.

Gosnells police acting officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Simon Rimmer said senseless criminal activity was always disappointing.

‘That disappointment is compounded when it impacts upon those striving to make improvements to our shared community lives,’ he said.

The Shed is considering installing CCTV cameras.
