Woman taken by chopper to RPH after Serpentine horse fall

A WOMAN has been taken to Royal Perth Hospital via helicopter after falling from a horse in Serpentine this morning.

The woman, in her 20s, fell from the horse at a property on Summerfield Road after the animal broke into a canter and was spooked.

An ambulance from Kwinana attended the scene about 10.24am, before the RAC Rescue Chopper was called around midday and took her to Royal Perth Hosptial.

A spokesman for St John Ambulance said she suffered injuries to her back and lower body.

A spokeswoman for the Royal Perth Hospital said the woman was in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, but would spend the night in hospital as a precautionary measure.
