THERE were winners galore as the 2018 King of the Hill Skate Park series came to a close at the Roleystone Skate Park.
The event was the culmination of four qualifying rounds held in Armadale, Gosnells, Belmont and Canning, with a crowd of more than 200 converging on Roleystone to watch the dual skate and scooter competition.
James Saladine and Tyson Carroll took out the under-15 skateboarding and scooter competitions respectively, earning themselves a $250 prize each, while Daine Brown and Jiordan Giacoppo won the $500 first prizes in the open categories.

READ NOWDaine also won a best trick prize for his switch frontside 360 kickflip on the skateboard, while Peter Roberts took out the scooter best trick with a down bri scooter grab to whip.
Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said the competition was a good way to entertain local youth while promoting mental health.
“The competition is pivotal in bringing young skating and scooter enthusiasts together whilst highlighting the importance of mental health issues in our young people,” he said.
