YOUNG people in Armadale are set to design their city’s future.

A new grant will allow the City of Armadale to deliver a 12-month program with a focus group of up to 40 diverse young people.

“During the school holidays, young people will be able to brainstorm, design and implement youth-focused projects and address issues important to them and their daily lives and to the wider community,” Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said.

“The program will give the City an opportunity to connect with local youth and partners including YMCA, Headspace, Save the Children and Notre Dame University.”

The $10,000 Youth Engagement Grant comes from the Department of Communities.

Alongside the project, the City will produce a review of youth-friendly places, space and programs through youth engagement and consultation with Notre Dame.

More details on the program will be announced shortly at armadale.wa.gov.au/youth.
