Yule Brook College hosting School Drug Education and Road Aware information workshop

SCHOOL Drug Education and Road Aware (SDERA) are hosting a drug and alcohol information workshop at Yule Brook College tomorrow.

Local parents and interested community members will have the opportunity to learn about the use of alcohol and other drugs and will focus on trends in student drug use.

SDERA drug education co-ordinator Catriona Coe said it was important parents and carers had an open dialogue with children.

“Parents and carers have a crucial role to play in the prevention of young people’s risk of harm from alcohol and other drugs,” she said.

“This session will educate parents and carers about drugs and drug use including alcohol, cannabis and methamphetamine.

“Parents and carers will also learn techniques to help them speak with children of all ages about alcohol and other drugs.”

Prior registration is not required to attend the information session.
