Council has excuse for everything

Annette Tocock, KelmscottComment News

I recently walked along River Road in Kelmscott and rubbish was strewn around with large pieces of metal sheeting left on the footpath. This path is used a lot, especially by children who are walked to Kelmscott Primary School from the pre-school.

In an article in the same edition it stated the council had “technical difficulties beyond the city’s control” regarding late pick up.

What happens when I have the same difficulties paying my rates? Does the council let me off? No way.

It seems your council always has an excuse for everything. Clean up the mess, or fine everyone who puts junk out before their designated date.

I’ve seen old mattresses and rubbish just placed outside properties, hoping someone will take them.

Well, fine those culprits too.
