Eastern example

LOCAL Government Minister Tony Simpson has launched an online toolkit so that councils and residents can negotiate council amalgamations.

This begs the question: has the Local Government Advisory Board been instructed to provide a favourable report for amalgamations?

In the absence of any facts to support this action, it would be appropriate for the Minister to say exactly how councils and residents will get better services from a stronger, more efficient council (his quote).

Perhaps he would like to quote from councils in the eastern states that have discovered that bigger is not always better. We already have a strong efficient council; leave it alone.
