Empathy shown

The campaign is inspired by a woman who shaved her head after a friend lost her hair during cancer treatment. Those who shave today echo this act of empathy and solidarity.

Hair loss is just one of the devastating effects of chemotherapy, which is necessary in the treatment for blood cancers.

Those participating in the World’s Greatest Shave not only show their support for people with blood cancer by raising funds, but they also create awareness and empathy for the thousands of people who lose their hair every day as a symptom of their battle against cancer.

Together with everyone who colours, crops, waxes or donates money, those people who shave help to raise vital funds. By investing funds into support services and research, we hope that one day there will be a cure for blood cancer.
