Front page story on new bin laws disappointing

Errol Bowes, ThornlieComment News

HOW disappointing to see you devoted half the front page to those few people who complain about the proposed new bin laws (Bin plan on the nose, Comment News, September 27).

As Gosnells chief executive Ian Cowie stated, it’s to deter those who abuse the system.

I am wondering if those who are “outraged”, as you stated, have too much time on their hands or are “sailing close to the wind” with the sorting of their own rubbish.

Perhaps they could put this time towards something useful, such as smelling the wildflowers, volunteering for a community group or even learning a musical instrument and joining a band (but not mine).

If ‘Louie’ does get to lay eggs in my bin and they reach maturity, I find that rinsing the bin out with a little bit of disinfectant mixed with water cures the smell.

Why don’t you give the same space and placement to the people who support the City of Gosnells’ plan? No, that’s not sensational, I guess.
